FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Radial-G : Racing Revolved – Coming to Steam Early Access on 11th December ‘14

Climb into the cockpit of a futuristic race craft and tear up the anti-gravity track as battle commences with over 30 real and AI opponents. Oculus Rift ready, offering single and multiplayer action, Radial-G delivers full immersion racing on tubular tracks featuring gut-wrenching twists, jumps, splits and unique inverted racing.

Heralded as the spiritual successor to sci-fi racing greats WipeOut and F-Zero, newly-founded Tammeka have seen critical acclaim for the title from industry heavyweights including Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Studios Worldwide, and Palmer Luckey, Inventor and Founder of Oculus VR, following the release of a free-to-download single player demo in July 2014 (available from their website Radial-G.com). The demo led to a successful Steam Greenlight campaign in September 2014, with arcade racing enthusiasts able to purchase the Early Access version on 11th December 2014.

Steam Early Access Features

The initial Steam Early Access version of the game will include the following features:

  • A choice of three race craft
  • 16-player online multiplayer support
  • Offline and single player modes
  • Balance the risk and reward of converting your shield to additional user-controlled boost
  • Enhanced ship physics
  • DK1, DK2 and regular 2D monitor modes supported for Windows-PC

First Full Release Features

The first full public release of the game on Steam, after a short period in Steam Early Access, will offer much more to the player at an increased price, in line with other indie game offerings. These additional features include:

  • Three tracks per environment, with mirrored and reversed track options to unlock
  • Three ships to choose from, offering individual and unique handling mechanics
  • Customisable ships and pilots
  • 32-player online multiplayer support
  • Compelling game modes including single races, championships, elimination and more*

* Exact details to be confirmed nearer release

Continued Support & Future Content

Radial-G : Racing Revolved will continue to be supported post-release with monthly content updates, including new environments, new tracks, new ships and new gameplay features such as weapons, ship and pilot customisation, track editors, achievements and in-game perk systems to gain the advantage in online races. Mac, Linux and PS4 versions are in development with staggered releases throughout 2015.

Game Music Plans

As we near our Steam Early Access release on Thursday December 11th, it’s time to look at some of the game music composers we are working with and plan to work with in the future.

During our Kickstarter campaign, and since Day One conception of the game, we always stressed and knew how important game music is to our overall vision. Harking back to the days of when Wipeout first released on PlayStation, creating an amazing complete package of design, visuals, gameplay and a ear-blowing electronic soundtrack, we wanted to recreate that superior collection of elements to make Radial-G : Racing Revolved something truly special.

We reached out to indie and well-known game music composers (and a number contacted us directly,) to help realise our vision of creating an aural spectacle to match the fast-paced graphics and gameplay. So for the Steam Early Access version, we are looking to work with the following composers:

KOHTAKT

Syndroid

Breakwhore

Gizmode

Mungo Nation

Paradise Decay

MaverickMan

Phil Johnstone

Throughout the Steam Early Access period leading up to v1.0 release, we will then revisit our plans to work with the more well-known game music composers, now we know associated costs and can plan budgets accordingly, such as:

Joris de Man

Jonathan vd Wijngaarden

Tim “CoLDSToRAGE” Wright

Static

Chris Apple Studios

Orb Soundwerx

If you have any thoughts about music genres you think should be included, then share them with us! We have setup a collaborative Spotify playlist which you can add tracks to.
